2010

A qualified medical professional, Dr. Rupali Ambegaonkar gave up a promising career in medicine to follow her life’s true calling. Tea Culture of the World was conceptualised to bring exquisite range of herbal and flavoured teas from around the world. As a tribute to the tea that united her to the true calling, she named the company The Iron Buddha Company.

2013

Dr. Rupali Ambegaonkar completed her tea sommelier certification from Tea Association of Canada to become one of the few certified tea sommeliers in India. After her formal education in teas, she lived on a tea estate in China to learn the ancient secrets of blending and brewing the perfect concoction. She truly gave in to her calling and embodied the essence of tea cultures across the world.

2014

Dr. Rupali Ambegaonkar began her journey of introducing the world to a land of opulence where luxury is served in a cup by starting her first Shop-in-Shop in Malad, Hypercity. Her radiant presence made the venture a steaming success. Her passion and knowledge of blends have been recognized by Indian Institute of Plantation Management, Bangalore (part of Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore), where she’s a visiting faculty and conducts regular lectures.

2016

By the end of 2016, Tea Culture of the World had its presence in 20 shop-in-shop stores across India with the business growing leaps and bounds.

2017

The Iron Buddha Company, a proprietary company became a private limited company in July 2017, by the name TCW TEA PVT LTD. TCW Tea Pvt Ltd launched a vibrant range of 12 exotic whole leaf teabags in retail boxes across general trade and modern trade stores pan India. Today, TCW Tea Pvt Ltd has presence in over 200 stores across top retailers and an ever growing loyal customer base.
