Spiced Winter Mulled Wine

Makes 1 litre (1 ¾ pints)

Spiced winter tea is like Christmas in a cup! Rooibos tea, cinnamon, cloves and orange peel – these flavours are pretty much everything you need to make a gorgeous mulled wine.

Ingredients

  • 50 gms vanilla rooibos
  • 750 ml (1 pint 6 fl oz) good quality red wine
  • 250 ml (8 ½ fl oz) water
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • ½ orange, sliced ginger biscuits, to serve (optional)

Preparation

  • Simply throw all of the ingredients into one big pan. Bring to just below boiling point, stirring occasionally.
  • Then, turn the heat right down and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Serve warm, not too hot, as a delicious, warming drink on a cold day!
